Your voice and physical presence for clear, confidant communication as a woman in science

As a woman researcher and chemist, you know your content and are ready to present your expertise.

This course is open to all women at FemChem who speak in public and would like to get their message across more effectively. So how do we convey complex information and data in a clear, inspiring way and at the same time remain relaxed and authentic?

In this highly interactive training we will explore vocal and physical presence for more impact. We will also address the voice and public speaking issues experienced by women in academia:

Do you sometimes feel you are not always properly seen or heard as a woman in science?

Does your speech and voice change or get faster when under pressure? Do you experience vocal tiredness in long meetings?

With simple, direct vocal coaching and embodiment techniques these issues can be addressed in a professional but playful way!

CONTENT:

• Voice, speech, embodiment, breath and posture
• Discover and liberate the power of your own voice
• Clear speech for complex data – diction, tone, timbre, tempo – also for the mic
• Presentation practice, feedback sessions, discussion, personal voice analysis
• Performer´s techniques for finding more color, conviction and inspiration

PRITI COLES

is a London born, native-English voice-expert. She has over 15 years executive coaching experience with international companies and as a voice and presentation trainer in academia, science and research at e.g. IST Institute of Science and Technology, Austrian Academy of Sciences, CeMM, WU University of Economics and Business, and the University of Vienna. Her expertise also draws from her long international career as an opera soloist, actor, concert singer and recording artist throughout Europe with renowned companies and orchestras Prior to this she studied opera and voice at Amsterdam Conservatorium and she graduated with a B.A Honors in Performing Arts and Acting from Trent Park, Middlesex Univ. in London.
