Promote your research – from PhD to Postdoc!

Creating your own website: a course for postdoctoral researchers

Are you a postdoctoral researcher looking to boost the visibility of your research? Do you want to create a professional website that showcases your work and engages with a broader audience? Look no further! We are thrilled to announce our two-part Webdesign course tailor-made for postdocs!

Why Promoting and Presenting Your Research Matters

As a postdoctoral researcher, your dedication and the countless hours invested in your research are testament to your commitment to improve the progress in your area of expertise. However, without effective promotion and presentation, even the most groundbreaking research might remain hidden, limiting its potential impact and reach.

A well-designed and professional website serves as a powerful platform to showcase your research findings, ideas, and achievements to the global community. It enables you to connect with fellow researchers, potential collaborators, funding agencies, and the public, fostering meaningful interactions that can amplify the influence of your work.

Part 1: “Introduction to TU Wien Website systems”

Join us for an engaging info session where Sebastian Steiner, who is part of the TU Wien Website Support team, will introduce you to the features and capabilities of TU Wien website systems. Sebastian will also address formal guidelines that have to be followed and the essential topic of DSGVO (Datenschutz-Grundverordnung) to ensure your website aligns with data protection regulations.

Part 2: “Crafting Compelling Websites: Usability, Structuring & Accessibility”

In the second part, we are delighted to welcome Bettina Lechner, a distinguished external trainer, who will share valuable insights on utilizing TU Wien Website systems and WordPress to present your research effectively. With Bettina’s expertise in website development, you will learn how to maximize the potential of your website with engaging and accessible content. Website structuring, usability, and accessibility are vital components of creating an online presence that resonates with your audience. By applying the principles taught in this session, you will create a user-friendly experience, allowing your visitors to easily navigate your research and delve into the depth of your scholarly contributions.
